I have read Fenimore's literary offenses. This is truly gut wrenching funny. The Lord of the Rings alternative sounds funny, too. I might have to take a look at that one.
I also like the British comedy YES MINISTER series. I have gone through mine and marked out the bad words so that I can read it again without the offensive words.
Another humorous book is THREE MEN ON A BUMMEL. That is a lot of dry wit.
